Student Affairs Departments

The Student Fee Advisory Committee (SFAC) would like to provide you with a memorandum of understanding regarding allocations from our reserve account in order to improve transparency and operate more effectively.

The Committee has always and will continue to view the reserve account as an opportunity to fund large projects that will significantly enhance student life. The Committee exercises these funds for projects where the overall size of the project is large. The nature of these projects can be quite complex, and so the Committee believes prompt inclusion in the project is necessary to make a sound decision.

Please read the following for some best practices when requesting funds from the reserve account

  1. The Department has made efforts to receive the money from other sources.
  2. The monies being requested have been narrowed down to a specific aspect of the project so that the Committee can see exactly where the money is going.
  3. The Department should schedule a time to present to the Committee and allow two weeks for the deliberation.
  4. If funded, both parties will be updated on a need-to-know basis.
